2 Ways to add a click to tweet to your Squarespace website, via Melanie Craft & Company

Today I'm sharing a tutorial on how to create some click to tweet buttons for your squarespace website.

If you're new around here, my name is Melanie, I'm the blogger and designer behind this little design studio of mine. I share tips and tricks on how to navigate and use the Squarespace platform.

You can choose to watch the video or follow the written steps below.

When it comes down to marketing and design, it's important that you have call to actions throughout your website and blog posts.

There are quite a few different kinks of call to actions you can add to your blog post or sales page, but today I especially want to show you how you can create one in particular.

Written tutorial:

Step 1 - login to your click to tweet account

Navigate to, and sign in using your Twitter account credentials. Once you're logged in, you will be redirected to your "dashboard".

step 2 - create your click to tweet

In the top box, you will be able to generate a brand new click to tweet link. You'll want to make sure it's a catchy sentence that your readers will want to share with their followers on twitter. If you want to make sure they tag you in their tweet, make sure you add your twitter handle within the tweet. Lastly, you want to make sure that your readers are being directed to your blog post, so make sure you add your blog post URL within that tweet as well.

In the video tutorial, I used "2 ways to create a click to tweet link for your Squarespace website @melaniecraftco".

Once your done, click "generate link".

step 3 - choose your click to tweet design

Click to tweet provides you with several different theme options, or basic tweet options. Choose the design you wish and copy the code they provide.

Go to your Squarespace site, choose the page and section in which you want your click to tweet to appear, and add a code block. Paste the code you've copied within the block and apply your changes.

This will add the click to tweet design to your website.

(option 2)

If you are looking to add an actual link to your design, add a text block to your desired area of your website or blog post. Then write out what you want your tweet to say. Just the sentence part.

In your click to tweet settings, you will see a link located at the top right corner of the page. This is the link to your click to tweet you just generated. Copy that link.

Highlight the sentence you just wrote, create a regular text link and paste the click to tweet link. You should end up with something like this:

That's it! you got yourself a click to tweet button.
